Dedicated to the memory of Ronald Wilkinson

Ron Wilkinson was born in Aldershot to an Army family in 1923. For medical reasons he was unable to serve in the armed forces during World War II and became an Engineer working on an essential war production. He married Jean (Morley) in 1943; they had met in Slough where Ron was stationed. After the war he held various positions with companies in the Slough area. This included 23 years with Shell Composites where he ended his employment in the position of Sales and Marketing Director. Jean and Ron had a happy marriage and were loving parents to their four children. After a long, productive and happy retirement Jean predeceased Ron in 2010 aged 90 after 67 years of marriage. Throughout his long life Ron pursued his interest in politics, freemasonry, U3A, music, gardening, philosophy and the Open University. His last years were spent in the magnificent surroundings of Sutton Manor where he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 28th of September 2018. He will be sadly missed by his four children, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as the extended family and his many friends. With special thanks for the loving care given by the staff and his friends at Sutton Manor.
